Too cold to snow

Since Friday the 13th it has been too cold to snow. In the single digits. Heat wave 13 degrees today. Snow is melting off the roads which is fine for me. Foxy is almost trained to go out and come back in without me.

Went back downtown today only about 4-5 miles. Streets are easy to find: A,B,C, or 1,2,3, etc. Took me a while to find a parking place. Did not want to pay $5. Found a place and the meter was marked red. Oh dear, what does red mean? Hooray it meant free parking on the weekend.

Visited the Alaskan Museum today. Enjoyed the time line of historical artifacts and location of petroglyphs Lots to learn about. The gift store had an abundance of Alaskan and Native Alaskan books.

Two dietitians

I got the scoop yesterday about the program. They have a part time dietitian who will go full time in January, and they want to hire a 2nd dietitian for the 60 patients. Lots of documentation, tube feedings, working one on one with the patients. My dad was never visited by the dietitian when he was in this kind of facility in Atlanta. Interesting. Might have made a difference.

See the moon a lot/ Nov 12

This is moon country. See the moon a lot here!! Sky was so clear when I took Foxy out this AM. She likes the cold weather and the snow. She wanted to keep walking this morning so we came in a different door. She was trying to figure which was our room and it confused her. She must be able to count doors. Have another day off til 4:00 PM today.

Alaskans Got Sense

Alaskans have enough sense to slow down in the snow. Well now I know why Atlantans have accidents in the snow...trying to drive normal speed. It snowed another 2-4 inches, and everyone slowed down their speed.

Just had to go in to work at 4:00 PM to meet with the RD who left the job. It was do it or die. Just had to "jump in" and do it.

Veteran's Day in Alaska/ Nov 11/09/ 1:30 PM

Did not work today due to license not being approved. Went to the nearby local dept store called Fred Myers to get supplies. ... got Foxy some dog food for a week and a million products to take away the electricity in Foxy's and my hair. Starting to use Janice Perteet Grant's no fragrance skin lotion. Suppose to snow 3-5 inches starting this afternoon. Wind just blew all the snow off the roof of the motel. Looked like a blizzard. Bought gas at $3.290/gallon. PT White Cruiser held almost 11 gallons. Came home and the room had been cleaned with Foxy in it. I did not think they would clean it without me present (rule). All the housekeeping staff know Foxy's name, and yesterday she got two toys.

"WinterTrax" to go over my shoes to prevent falls.

Nov 10th, 4th night

Foxy has been to Doggey Day Camp twice. She nudgies the sitter good-bye. Got the PT Cruiser this PM. Drove home in the snow, slowly. More snow tomorrow and tomorrow night. Low this Thursday 6 degrees. Mailed the check for licensing today. $250.00. My office space is about 24 inches wide between 2 others. I have six drawers. Oh to have a cubicle!! Foxy has more space in her kennel than I have.

Breakfast and dinner prepared by Marriott.

Debated whether to go out tonight to get Foxy's dog food tonight. Staying inside and going tomorrow morning won out.
